This recruitment is for one (1) full-time, permanent, Construction Project Coordinator 3 position for Parks Development located in Tumwater, Washington. Working hours are generally Monday- Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm or flextime as agreed by the supervisor. This position requires you to travel up to 20% as needed to accomplish assignments, occasional overnight travel maybe required. The work environment is 85% inside and 15% outside but may vary upon tasks assigned. Field work may include rough terrain and enclosed spaces.
As a construction project coordinator, your primary responsibilities include managing consultants through the design and construction phases of capital improvement projects. This critical role requires an experienced construction project coordinator with good communication skills and a working knowledge of the theories, principles, and practices of architectural & engineering design, project management, ADA construction compliance, and construction for projects ranging from $250,000 to $5,000,000+. About the position:This position reports to the Construction Project Coordinator 4 in the facilities management Team and directly supports the mission by providing project management services for facilities and capital projects (ADA). In this role you will coordinate, direct, and review the development of contract documents, reports and studies by Architecture and Engineering (A&E) firms for park construction projects including ADA improvements. Provide construction management services and manage A&E construction management services for park construction projects. Develop cost estimates and constant analysis required for capital budget development and project costs.

Duties
Some of what you will do:
- Responsible for all facets of capital project functions including the oversight of planning, design, and permitting for various capital park construction projects.
- Solicit, develop, and negotiate AE consultant agreements, personal service contracts, and interagency agreements.
- Serve as the Project Representative on the ADA compliance project with consultants, other contracted professionals, and internal staff.
- Responsible for all facets of capital project consultant management functions including the oversight of planning, design and permitting for various capital park construction projects.
- Serve as the Project Representative on the ADA compliance project with consultants, other contracted professionals, and internal staff.
- Work with external regulators and interested entities in determining the best methods for resolving development and permitting issues related to capital projects.
- Provide construction management services for capital construction projects to ensure compliance with contract documents.
- Oversee the implementation of ADA improvements.
- Develop capital budget submittals, including scopes of work, project cost estimates, and assist in the development of operational impacts for proposed capital projects.
- Provide Capital Budget System (CBS) ready capital project information.
Qualifications
Required qualifications:
Qualified candidates will meet all of the following criteria:- Bachelor’s degree* in architecture, engineering, construction management, landscape architecture, or closely related field,
- AND four (4) years of professional experience including at least 3 of those years developing and preparing design & construction documents in the office of a licensed or registered architect or engineer, and experience managing architectural, job site, and/or utility construction projects.
- Valid unrestricted (except corrective lenses) driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications:- A professional license/certification in engineering, architecture, landscape architecture, or construction management.
- Knowledge of and experience in Asset Management and ArcGIS.
- Knowledge of state government and Parks rules and regulations.
