JOB SUMMARY:

A-C-T Environmental & Infrastructure’s Emergency Response (ER) Project Coordinator leads with integrity, manages self and others with urgency, strategically makes critical decisions, and has experience with the accountability of an environmental emergencies. The ER Project Coordinator will help guide the company’s Emergency Services Response Team. 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assigns, manages and guides the Emergency Services Response Team to environmental emergencies 
  • Ability to provide guidance to A-C-T team members and out of state contractors to properly clean spills, maintain legal compliance, protect the client’s liability and provide the best value to our client
  • Responsible for constant communication and documentation with A-C-T team members, as well as the client and regulatory authorities
  • Performs technical field/office work as required
  • Working knowledge of DOT, RCRA and environmental regulations (EPCRA, TSCA, and CERCLA) and an understanding of the terminology and principles of spill response
  • Prepare cost estimates to assure all costs are recognized and the quoted dollars meet required margins
  • Meets with customers to participate in job walks to understand the scope of work and any issues that may impact costs and execution
  • Coordinate with Waste Management personnel to ensure all waste disposal is completed properly
  • Works with management to schedule the work and assure availability of manpower and equipment resources
  • Follow up on jobs with operational team and customers to assure work is completed satisfactorily, issues resolved, invoiced, and monies collected
  • Knowledge of the potential hazards associated with hazardous wastes
  • Prepare reports based upon field notes, interpretation of laboratory reports and other data, including source removal, site assessment and others
  • Ensures health and safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and always acting in a safe manner
  • Ensure that responders understand the job at hand and can complete their tasks. Monitor responders and offer corrective actions if tasks are not being completed effectively
  • Regularly be “on-call” after normal business hours to coordinate and perform emergency response projects.
  • Participate in continual training/education programs through A-C-T
  • Ability to communicate effectively with regulatory agencies, clients and A-C-T team members and follow instructions both verbally and in writing

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of Project Management Software and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills to support leadership, management, negotiation and problem-solving functions of this role
  • Excellent judgement and discretion 
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle quick changing environments
  • Remain calm and professional in stressful situations
  • Detail oriented while maintaining an extremely positive attitude
  • Friendly, courteous, customer service-oriented, professional, and outgoing
  • Must be able to work independently and productively with minimum supervision

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree (physical sciences, geology, engineering, environmental science (preferred), or a related field) or 2-year college degree and 5 years of experience in environmental industry
  • Two (2) years’ experience with environmental or industrial services projects preferred 
  • OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training preferred
