Bucknell University seeks a Project Coordinator to work independently and proactively to support research in the department of psychology. Working directly with Professor of Psychology Judy Grisel, the Project Coordinator will support research and outreach that is aimed at enhancing scientific literacy among youth. The Project Coordinator will help lead a team of research students as they work in small groups to identify and translate scientific information for a wide, online audience of young people. This is a 12-month, half-time (20 hours/week) position, requiring excellent organizational and communication skills. This position is expected to last at least one year, with possibility of extension if more funds become available.Job Duties:
Primary Duties:
Administrative Support:
Provide administrative support to the project director, including managing sub-projects, complex calendaring, coordinating and supporting meetings and events, preparing draft communications and presentations, arranging travel and submitting appropriate travel reports; building partnerships and collaborating with relevant staff at Bucknell and outside experts to benefit project goals.
Supervise Student Researchers:
Support the overall function and mission of the scientific literacy team; help to identify and assist with training graduate and undergraduate research assistants; onboard new student collaborators; lead training sessions and conduct regular meetings with members of the research team; appropriately engage students from diverse perspectives and experiences; keep track of scheduling and progress on team goals.
Maintain Materials:
Responsibly maintain an archive of research products including physical and digital materials that document the activities and history of research team to make them available for use; collaborate and build relationships with campus partners in L&IT, the Data Science Center and other related programs and centers as needed.
Critical and Analytical Thinking:
Using critical and analytical thinking, independently identify root cause of issues, seek, obtain and interpret relevant information, analyze and compare data from varying sources, identify and test alternative solutions, determine benefits and impact in decision-making and/or recommendations, and think beyond what is typical or customary.
Communications:
Present information and deliver presentations to individuals or groups suited to the characteristics and needs of the audience. With verbal and/or written communication, convey information clearly and concisely to groups or individuals to ensure that they understand the information and message conveyed. Listen and respond appropriately to others. Impact and influence others to further the group’s strategic objectives.
Professional Development:
Participate in professional development as needed to stay abreast of recent developments in the fields of digital scholarship, graphic design, pedagogy or other relevant fields

Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED
Experience: 2-3 years work experience

17.16-21.45The offer rate will be based on a review of the candidate's credentials compared to the qualifications of the position, internal equity, and our overall compensation philosophy.
