Overview

As a Maine-based firm, BerryDunn is looking to expand our local team. BerryDunn is seeking a Consultant to join our Medicaid Practice Group (MPG) that will have an initial focus supporting our New England client(s) as a Medicaid Enterprise Systems (MES) Project Coordinator. As part of our consulting team focused on State Medicaid Agency (SMA) clients, you’ll leverage your project management expertise and Medicaid knowledge to help Medicaid agencies improve the health and lives of individuals. You’ll also be the success partner for Medicaid agencies in building healthier communities and stronger futures.

BerryDunn is seeking an individual with experience in project management, preferably in state government, health IT, and the Health and Human Services (HHS) industry.

The Project Coordinator will coordinate and schedule meetings with client project managers for all meetings, documents, and communications; capture and publish meeting minutes and prepare meeting agendas; and help research, prepare, and draft deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated State HHS IT project management background with experience in Medicaid provider enrollment, claims processing, member eligibility and enrollment, and/or financial management.

 

This position can be remotely-based or in our office in Portland, Maine. You will report to management in our Medicaid team both for client work, career development, and development of your coworkers. With a growth mindset, you will drive your development with the support of a learning and development culture. You will report to senior leaders in the MPG and will help clients nationally with your initial focus being on our clients in New England.

 

Travel Expectations: Up to 50% travel to client sites is anticipated to support projects

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily project administration activities across multiple projects
  • Support office management and monitoring
  • Support the development and maintenance of project plans
  • Support operational and implementation processes and procedures to identify potential risks and issues, and propose mitigation strategies
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes and make recommendations on how to implement these changes
  • Track project progress, milestones, and dependencies
  • Coordinate meetings and maintain Microsoft Outlook project calendars
  • Prepare meeting agendas and take meeting notes
  • Assist with the development of assessment and status reports
  • Analyze, review, and maintain vendor-supplied documentation
  • Assist in documentation review facilitation, tracking, and maintenance
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and/or discussing project-related deliverables and maintaining the deliverables and other project documentation in an online project repository
  • Document and escalate project action items, issues, risks, and/or decisions to BerryDunn project management
  • Assist with establishing internal processes that comply with departmental requirements
  • Assist with the process for identifying and securing necessary information technology (IT) hardware and software to meet the project’s needs
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration among project team members, stakeholders, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree and a minimum of two (2) years or more of professional work experience managing business processes, program operations, or fiscal administration
  • Considerable knowledge of administrative and business principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of computer technology and its applications
  • Ability to identify problems, analyze potential solutions, and develop and implement action plans
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software
