The Hutchinson Institute for Cancer Outcomes Research (HICOR) is a multi-disciplinary research institute whose mission is to reduce the human and economic burden of cancer. HICOR faculty conduct research in health economics, implementation science, quality of care, health care delivery, health disparities and health policy.

 

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) has launched the Cancer Screening Research Network (CSRN) to evaluate emerging technologies for cancer screening. The CSRN will conduct rigorous, multi-cancer screening trials in a variety of settings with the ultimate goal of reducing cancer-related illness and deaths. Fred Hutch serves as the coordinating and communications center (CCC) and the statistics and data management center (SDMC) for the CSRN with communications being managed by HICOR. This position will reside within HICOR and directly support the CSRN CCC activities as a key member of the communications team.

HICOR is seeking a full-time Project Coordinator to coordinate research and administrative activities for the CSRN. Under direction from the HICOR Manager, the Project Coordinator will independently support activities related to research study recruitment and retention, help coordinate the CSRN Community Advisory Board (CAB), and perform other regulatory and administrative assignments in support of the CSRN communications and coordinating center. General responsibilities will include development, maintenance and tracking of recruitment and retention materials, management of CAB activities and meetings, and oversight of CSRN advisory committees related to recruitment and retention. This role works closely with other members of the CSRN Communications group as part of a high-performing administrative team working in collaboration to provide exemplary support. Position may be on site or hybrid (minimum 2 days in office per week).

Duties will include the performance of some or all of the following:

• Develop, purchase, and update recruitment and retention materials for research studies (advertisements, social media content, scripts, consent forms, etc).
• Develop tracking systems to understand how and when recruitment and retention materials are utilized in the Network. Monitor deliverables, timelines and budgets related to CCC Communications activities and collaborate to troubleshoot problems.
• Coordinate translation of study related materials, including local reviews to ensure materials are appropriate for the regions they are being deployed in.
• Oversee all community advisory board (CAB) activities including maintaining CAB rosters, tracking CAB feedback, executing appropriate CAB contracts, planning CAB meetings and activities, and keeping CAB members apprised of study activities.
• Schedule, organize and attend regular Network meetings, preparing and distributing agendas, meeting materials and minutes. Monitor action items to ensure objectives have been met within designated time frame and coordinate follow-up activities.
• Serve as CCC Communications network liaison, representing the CSRN to community stakeholders, participating clinics, study participants, collaborators, study sponsors, and other Fred Hutch/Cancer Consortium departments.
• Coordinate the submission of CSRN Network study results, articles, conference abstracts/presentations and manuscripts for publication.
• Contribute to special and recurring reports for investigators, funding agencies and FDA submissions, as necessary.
• Perform other administrative, research and operational responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BS in related field.
• Minimum of five (5) years post-bachelor's OR three (3) years post-master's project coordination experience in a research or healthcare setting.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Familiarity and/or experience with coordinating clinical research
• High level of attention to detail and excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and take initiative in a dynamic environment. Creative and efficient approach to problem-solving.
• Ability to organize multiple projects and manage changing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment.
• Proficient with Microsoft applications: Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of EndNote is a plus.
• Experience with human subjects protection, good clinical practice, and institutional review boards.
• Strong interest in cancer prevention and control, social determinants of health and intervention development with self-motivation for independent learning.

The annual base salary range for this position is from $69,472 to $104,187, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.
