Job Description
The Research & ASSERT Program Coordinator is a key support position within the Office of Research Development, and contributes to building, enhancing, and supporting a university-wide research culture. Specifically, this position will plan and support activities of ASSERT (Aligning Stakeholders and Structures to Enable Research Transformation), which is a mentoring, training, and research program for faculty supported by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
This position also will assist faculty in seeking and obtaining external sponsorship of their research and provide project-specific support for externally-sponsored research. This position will work independently and in collaboration with internal stakeholders such as staff in the Office for Research, faculty, and students.
Key Responsibilities
ASSERT program (40-50%):
- Assist with developing ASSERT program at ISU
- Coordinate project organization, communication, and event planning
- Schedule presenters, purchase supplies, and assist with presentations
- Track project activities and assist with the development of project evaluation and reports
- General administrative support for project
- Meet with statewide ASSERT coordinators monthly
- Support National Science Foundation (NSF) Track- Award “I-CREWS” workforce activities (attend annual meetings, assist ISU’s “I-CREWS” co-PI with reporting, coordination, and other duties)
Office of Research Development (50-60%):
Provide project-specific support for externally-sponsored projects, which may include:
- Project organization
- Project tracking
- Project communications
- General administrative support for projects
- Provide research development support, including:
-Finding funding opportunities
-Assisting with grant proposal development
-Coordinating and communicating events targeted to faculty research development
-General administrative support for research development activities
- Ability to work a regular schedule consistent with the needs of the university is an essential function of this position
- All other reasonable duties as assigned
Success in this position requires the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, strong organizational skills, and commitment to delivery of superior customer service and professionalism. This is an on-campus position in Pocatello.

Salary will be between $54,000 - $58,000 per year, commensurate with education and experience.
