Be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to Army Educational Outreach Programs as a Senior Project Coordinator. This position will support activities related to the day-to-day management and administration of JSHS (Junior Science and Humanities Symposium), a STEM competition for high school students. General responsibilities include administrative and financial tasks for the program, maintaining and updating program databases, communication with participants, and planning and coordination of the national event.
This position will support activities related to the day-to-day administration of JSHS within NSTA and will report to the JSHS Project Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Works with the JSHS Project Manager (PM) and the JSHS Program Administrator to assure that all goals and deliverables put forth in the Annual Program Plan are met and assist with coordinating the logistics for the JSHS initiative
- Monitor JSHS emails and phone calls and provide customer service to all participants.
- Administer the virtual online mentoring platform, Chronus.
- Review and update website with regional updates and photos of regional events.
- Assist JSHS Program Administrator with outreach to support program development and identification of potential new hosts.
- Update all accounts payable system entries and verify correct documentation.
- Coordinate with student scholarship recipients to obtain necessary documentation and process payment of awards.
- Assist in the teacher award payment process.
- Assist AEOP Senior Marketing Specialist with program updates for the development of marketing content.
- Assist the JSHS Project Manager in the development of required reports, to include, but not limited to the Annual Program Plan and the Quarterly Reports.
- Support the JSHS Project Manager in planning and executing the National JSHS event.
- Develop and manage the dissemination of Request for Proposals for the National JSHS Event.
- Other duties as assigned by JSHS Project Manager.

- Ability to proactively recognize potential issues and address concerns appropriately, and to communicate this information to the JSHS Project Manager or other program director when appropriate.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Travel to one NSTA conference annually may be required as determined by the NSTA Director of Competitions. Travel to the National JSHS event is required (April/May). Additional travel opportunities may include travel to one regional JSHS event.
PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Associate’s or Bachelor's degree; or 1-3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Expert command of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Microsoft OneDrive.
- Proficiency with Adobe Acrobat X-Pro pdf tools.
- Experience with Aptify and PN3 (accounts payable system) is preferred.
SALARY
$52-$55K Annually
