Palmetto Bluff is nestled along the May River in the Lowcountry of South Carolina between Hilton Head Island and Savannah. As an award winning 20,000 acre development, the development encompasses a private member’s only club which includes a marina, restaurants, an equestrian center, a shooting club, a Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course, a lawn and racquet club, and more. Job Summary:
Responsible for accurate and efficient handling of activity reservations for members and guests. Activities include private trainings, group classes, workshops, special events, holiday workouts and 5K race sign ups. The coordinator works directly with the events team and assists in the production of weekly podcast.
Weekly Schedule:
- Tuesday – Saturday
- 6:30am to 3pm
Essential Job Functions:
- Complete opening and closing duties per current standards.
- Answer telephone and emails in an efficient and professional manner.
- Maintain up to date information regarding online class schedule and events.
- Take reservations for members and cancel from classes as needed
- Assist in notifying members and canceling classes
- Assist in reserving private sessions with wellness professionals in NorthStar.
- Attendance at weekly team department meeting.
- Check in members and process no show fees and guest fees as applicable.
- Participate in filling out the daily report, inputting class numbers, revenue, and, member comments.
- Maintain the organization of the retail merchandise, adjusting displays, stocking, and rotating stock.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the Moreland studio front desk
- Assist with ordering, invoicing, and department checkbook as needed.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of the retail space.
- Assist customers in sales and selection of merchandise.
- Assist with monthly inventories.
- Assist with production of the Behind the Bluff Podcast
- Assist Wellness Manager with all department events.
Qualifications:
- Must be able to greet guests and members in a friendly, gracious, and cordial manner.
- Retail experience preferred. Strong proficiency in computer-based reservations, calendar, and POS transactions.
- Hospitality experience in resort or club environment preferred.
- Experience coordinating events and projects.
- Working knowledge of fitness and wellness preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, fluency in English.
- Ability to develop positive relationships, always be humble, and crush expectations.
Physical Requirements:
- Work tasks are performed both indoors and outdoors.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs.
- Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach different outlets and other departments on a timely basis.
- Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
- Talking and listening occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors and subordinates.
- Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception.
- Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment.
- Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment such as computers, printers, multi-line touch tone phone, filing cabinets, photocopiers, dolly and other office equipment as needed.
