This Opportunity

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Construction Project Coordinator for our Nashville, TN office. Be involved in projects with our National Aviation & PMCM Teams and be a part of a growing organization that meets our client’s objectives and solves their challenges.

The Project Coordinator will provide assistance on projects from procurement, design, and thru construction on their assigned project.

The Project Coordinator will support/oversee engineering/architectural design, bid/RFP/RFQ evaluation, contract administration, project scheduling, coordination, inter-utility coordination, quality control, decisions and supervision to ensure projects are completed within the stipulated time and allocated budget.  Supports coordination with other Metropolitan Nashville Airport Authority (MNAA) divisions, project stakeholders and regulatory agencies (MNAA staff, airlines, concessionaires, Fed/State/local government agencies including, Metro Codes, TSA, FAA etc.) as appropriate. Support cost estimates and projections/cash flow/estimate at completion for projects. Schedule and conduct design and construction progress meetings.  Coordinate activities with outside agencies to assure timely completion of all projects.  Utilize electronic tools including Procore, CADD system, and other computer systems.  Coordinates construction maintenance of traffic plans, utility shutdown requests, impact notices, disruption notices, contingency planning and other tasks as needed.  Compile and analyze technical data and prepare reports concerning project related activities.  Horizon work is predominately done with Progressive Design-Build contracts, experience with this contracting methodology is a plus.

Hire is contingent upon client approval, being able to obtain an airport badge, and the successful completion of a background check which will be initiated upon receipt of your signed offer letter. Also, as a condition of employment, it is required to provide proof of U.S. citizenship, permanent residency in the U.S., or current authorization to work in the U.S. within (3) days of your start date.

Your Impact
  • Assists with contract administration & project scheduling.
  • Coordinates with multiple personnel including designers, contractors and other stakeholders to ensure projects are completed within the stipulated time and allocated budget.
  • Coordination of daily aspects of the project with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensures proper construction methods are utilized.
  • Provides information and responses to inquiries from contractors, tenants, MNAA departments, consultants, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Performs design and constructability reviews of projects.
  • Assists with evaluation of change order requests, requests for information, and other change issues.
  • Assists the Construction Manager (CM) and Quality Manager (QM) in addressing and verifying. 
    conformance to the project's quality control plan in accordance with quality assurance requirements.
  • Verifies and assists the PM in maintaining project files for all required administrative items including, but not limited to, submittals, RFIs, payroll records, field changes and directives, general correspondence, and pay applications.
  • Ensures final project deliverables (As-Builts & O&M Manuals) meet MNAA standards.
  • Provides risk management feedback on all assigned projects prior to and during construction.
Who You Are

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Airport Experience.
  • Certifications as applicable.
  • Requires 7-10 years of related experience (or equivalent working knowledge/experience)
  • Available for various shifts.
  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Construction methods and practices of airport design and construction.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
  • Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in related field.
