Compensation Details:
- GRADE: 20T
- SALARY RANGE: $65,691 - $85,071
This individual will perform simultaneous land development review and administrative variance determinations, and execute high level administrative projects, research, and financial analyses, as necessary.

DUTIES/TASKS/JOBS:
- Perform Simultaneous Building (Land Development) Permit Reviews for the Planning Department
- Review Administrative Variance Requests, write analysis reports, and present findings to the DRC.
- Research and draft Zoning Verification and Beneficial Use Letters.
- Research and draft Lawful Unit Determination Letters and present to Board of Adjustment as required.
- Process easement requests and present them to the City Commission, as required.
- Research drafts reports and present projects as appropriate to the Planning Board.
- Responsible for tracking and responding to Executive Order extension requests.
- Review and research numerous issues and prepare reports as requested by the Planning Director.
- Manage Planning Department projects as assigned.
- Administration of timelines.
- Responsible to the Planning Director to assist/ coordinate and supervise the activities of assigned office personnel to include the training of administrative staff; and will provide direct supervision of department clerical staff monitoring work assignments and work produced as assigned by department head.
- Responsible for staff and responding to complex public inquiries associated with land development and current projects.
- Create status reports for the City Manager’s Office.
- Manage the Project Assignment spreadsheet, which includes the status of all open and closed projects.
- Manage the status of all open and aging projects via TRAKiT - Publishes information for management review and feedback.
- Informs the public of any HARC guidelines or Land Development changes and explains those changes to contractors, architects, engineers, and homeowners.
- Composes appropriate response to issues and/or questions requiring detailed research or technical knowledge regarding Planning, Tree Commission, Historic Architecture, Building Dept, Licensing Dept, Code Enforcement, City Clerk, Finance Dept, Community Services.
- Involved in preparations for goals set for Planning Department.
- Assist with development of annual department budget and assists administrative staff with monthly tracking and monitoring line-item expenses and financial reports.
- Special projects as assigned by the Department Director.
- Utilizes City’s permit system and other records to keep files on permits, plans, inspections, and reports on various issues.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/ SKILLS/ ABILITIES/ QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong technical orientation with experience in review of planning and development plans.
- Familiarity with application of regulations in a demanding professional environment.
- Strong statistical orientation with computer and spread-sheet management experience.
- Working knowledge of computer word processing and spread-sheet application.
- Ability to promote and maintain harmonious working relationships with the public, coworkers and groups.

- High School Graduate a must, Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Experience will be reviewed in lieu of degree.
